Chelsea captain John Terry on Sunday hailed centre-forward Nicolas Anelka as one of the top all-rounders in the world.
The French player made his debut as a substitute for the Blues in their 2-0 win over Tottenham on Saturday after his 15-million-pound move from Bolton.
And Terry, currently out with a foot injury, was delighted with how Anelka settled into Chelsea's style of play.
"I feel we're getting everything - he gives us options," Terry said of Anelka.
"He gives us pace, and that stretches teams.
"He scores great goals for every club he's been at. He has all-round quality and will be great for us."
As for Anelka's mercurial reputation, Terry is confident the 28-year-old ex-Arsenal striker is ready to come of age at Chelsea.
"He came on and got on well with everyone instantly," the England defender told Sky Sports.
"He will fit in very well at our place."
