THE Football Association has turned down the appeals by Chelsea full-back Ashley Cole and Aston Villa centre-back Zat Knight against their red cards in the Barclays Premier League match at Stamford Bridge on Boxing Day.
The two players were sent off during the 4-4 at Stamford Bridge, with Knight dismissed in the 44th minute for a challenge on Chelsea midfielder Michael Ballack, and Cole shown a straight red card in the 90th minute for handball.
Both offences led to penalty kicks, which were converted.
The pair were each suspended for one match.
