Hamburger SV off to Dubai

When Bundesliga side Hamburger SV took off to Dubai for their training camp on Monday, two new faces were on board of the aircraft.

Earlier in the day, HSV had reopened training on home soil at the HSH Nordbank Arena.

van der Vaart in the spotlight

Rafael van der Vaart was at the centre of attention after having declined the club's offer for a premature contract extension.
"My contract still runs for two and a half years. That's a long time. That's why I said that it doesn't make sense to extend now", the Dutchman said before stressing that wouldn't mean that he'd necessarily leave in the summer.

Minsk player to sign

Two new faces were among the 47 people who headed to Dubai later that day: One of them Vadis Odjidja-Ofoe, signed from RSC Anderlecht last week, Anton Putsilo the other.
The Dinamo Minsk player hasn't put pen to paper yet, but will be able to participate thanks to a special permit until the transfer is completed. Africa Cup participants Tim Atouba, Mohamed Zidan and Collin Benjamin were not on board, just like Juan Pablo Sorin (rehab).
