A dream come true for Odjidja-Ofoe


Hamburg new signing Vadis Odjidja-Ofoe talks about why he transferred to HSV and his impression of the clubs die-hard fans

Vadis Odjidja-Ofoe switched from Begian club Anderlecht and has signed a long-term deal with HSV, who are currently third in the Bundesliga standings. Standing at one metre 83, the defensive specialist is widely regarded as one of the top up-and-coming talents in European football.
The Belgian Under-21 international will train with his new club for the first time on January 7th, and will accompany his team-mates to their training camp in Dubai. Speaking to HSV's official website, Odjidja-Ofoe gave the reasons for choosing to play in the Bundesliga, and how he vewshis new club.

: The transfer to HSV is complete, so how do you feel right now?


Vadis Odjidja-Ofoe
: I'm so happy that things worked out. Hamburger SV have a great squad with some really strong players such as Rafael van der Vaart, Nigel de Jong and Vincent Kompany. That's just a few of them; the club has a really balanced squad.

: Could you tell us the reasons for your decision to join Hamburg?


Odjidja-Ofoe
: Of course! It has always been my dream to play for a club like HSV. The club has a great reputation in both the Bundesliga and in Europe. I saw the team play FC Bayern, and I was really impressed with the strength of the squad and the atmosphere.

: You mean the stadium and the fans?


Odjidja-Ofoe
: Exactly. The atmosphere in the stadium was amazing, and the fans were unique, even though the team was trailing until late in the game. They believed in the team and fired the players on. You notice that as a player, and it's simply terrific!
